Six Questions with Lida:
What hobbies are you into? When did you first get into them? Photography since I was a kid and picked up my mom’s old 35mm. Cooking, which I didn’t realize until recently, is something I find myself doing for fun if I have a chunk of free time. It’s both art and therapy. Besides those, snowboarding, bouldering, hiking, reading, watching movies.
What does a typical weekend look like for you? Slow mornings and fun nights. And something active in between.
List 3 traits friends would use to describe you. Spontaneous, energetic, weird.
Which Founding Member do you relate to most? Why? Sasha DiGiulian. She proves that you can carve your own path (even if it’s into a male-dominated sport) through sheer talent and tenacity. Gym class was always my favorite growing up and I felt like I needed to suppress my excitement and participation because most girls in my class would stand on the sidelines. Sasha’s super committed to speaking out about gender equality while having already made a name for herself in the climbing world. It’s this inspiring model of being living proof as well as an advocate/activist for a broader issue.
What does adventure mean to you? I read this quote that summed up adventure in my mind incredibly well. “Adventure isn’t doing something extraordinary, but rather, doing something out of the ordinary.”
What is your favorite part about working for ROAM? Being able to write on behalf of a brand whose core values I fully believe in has been a dream. To work alongside such down to earth, go-getter personalities is inspiring and humbling. Oh, and staring at beautiful photos and videos every day doesn’t hurt either.
